Mario Carotenuto, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Egypt, is specialised in international crisis management.

He is the National Officer for Humanitarian Missions and Director of the Order of Malta’s Italian Relief Corps (CISOM) international humanitarian law courses. He is also a consultant for international crisis management, humanitarian diplomacy and international cooperation for the Armenian Catholic Ordinariate of Armenia, Georgia and Eastern Europe.

He is a lecturer in International Humanitarian Law and Self Protection Measures in Areas of Social Risk, Crime and Terrorism at the postgraduate courses in Tropical Medicine and International Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Brescia.

He has participated in international peacekeeping missions in the Horn of Africa and the Balkans.

In 2015, he presented his letters of credence as new Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
